In this article, we'll show you how to make a Christmas snow globe using a mason jar. We'll also provide some creative ideas for customizing your snow globe to make it unique.
Materials
- Mason jar
- Distilled water
- Glycerin
- Glitter
- Small Christmas tree or other festive figurine
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon or twine
Instructions
- Begin by removing the lid from the mason jar and thoroughly cleaning the jar with soap and water. Rinse the jar well and allow it to dry completely.
- Once the jar is dry, use a hot glue gun to secure the small Christmas tree or other festive figurine to the inside of the lid. Make sure the figurine is centered and secure.
- Fill the mason jar with distilled water, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top. Add a few drops of glycerin to the water. This will help to slow down the falling of the glitter.
- Add glitter to the water. You can use any color or type of glitter that you like. We recommend using a variety of colors to create a festive look.
- Screw the lid back on the mason jar and turn the jar upside down. Shake the jar gently to mix the glitter and water.
- Once the glitter has settled, turn the jar right side up and place it on a flat surface. You can now enjoy your Christmas snow globe!
Creative Ideas
- Use different colors of glitter to create a unique look.
- Add small beads or sequins to the water for a more festive touch.
- Attach a ribbon or twine to the lid of the snow globe for a decorative touch.
- Use a different type of jar, such as a glass jar or a plastic jar, to create a unique look.
- Add a personal touch by adding a photo or a small memento to the inside of the snow globe.
Making a Christmas snow globe is a fun and easy way to add some holiday cheer to your home or give as a gift. With a little creativity, you can create a unique snow globe that will be cherished for years to come.
