Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, on February 24, 1955. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, a working-class couple. Jobs showed an early interest in electronics and engineering, and he attended the University of California, Berkeley, for a brief time before dropping out to start Apple with Wozniak in 1976.

Apple's first product, the Apple I, was a personal computer that was sold as a kit. The Apple II, released in 1977, was a more successful product and helped to establish Apple as a major player in the personal computer industry. In 1980, Apple went public, and Jobs became a millionaire at the age of 25.

In 1985, Jobs was forced out of Apple due to a power struggle with the company's board of directors. He went on to found NeXT, a computer company that was unsuccessful. In 1997, Jobs returned to Apple as CEO, and he led the company to develop a number of successful products, including the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, and he underwent surgery and chemotherapy. He died on October 5, 2011, at the age of 56.
