Instructions
Back:
- Using size 8 (5.0mm) needles, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130, 140) stitches.
- Knit 2 inches in garter stitch.
- Switch to size 9 (5.5mm) needles and knit in stockinette stitch for 22 (24, 26, 28, 30) inches.
- Shape the armholes: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
- Knit 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) inches.
- Shape the shoulders: Bind off 5 (7, 9, 11, 13) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Bind off the remaining stitches.
Front:
- Using size 8 (5.0mm) needles, cast on 100 (110, 120, 130, 140) stitches.
- Knit 2 inches in garter stitch.
- Switch to size 9 (5.5mm) needles and knit in stockinette stitch for 22 (24, 26, 28, 30) inches.
- Shape the armholes: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
- Knit 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) inches.
- Divide the work in half and place markers on each side.
- Shape the neckline: Knit 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) stitches, place a marker, bind off the next 2 stitches, knit to the end of the row. Knit the next row as it comes.
- Continue to knit the back and forth rows, decreasing 2 stitches at the beginning of every other row until there are 20 (22, 24, 26, 28) stitches remaining on each side.
- Bind off the remaining stitches.
Sleeves:
- Using size 8 (5.0mm) needles, cast on 60 (64, 68, 72, 76) stitches.
- Knit 2 inches in garter stitch.
- Switch to size 9 (5.5mm) needles and knit in stockinette stitch for 18 (20, 22, 24, 26) inches.
- Shape the cap: Bind off 5 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Continue to decrease 5 stitches at the beginning of every other row until there are 10 (12, 14, 16, 18) stitches remaining.
- Bind off the remaining stitches.
Finishing:
- Sew the shoulder seams.
